ANDREA L. andreaAndrea was born in Providence and raised in Smithfield, Rhode Island. After graduation from Smithfield High School she obtained her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from the Community College of Rhode Island. Her grades qualified her for membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was employed as a corporate paralegal for several years in the in-house legal department of one of Rhode Island’s largest companies, GTECH Corporation. It was here that she decided to attend law school to pursue her dream of becoming a litigator. She attended University of Massachusetts and in 2006 obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Political Science; graduating cum laude. She then attended Roger Williams University School of Law. During her tenure there, Andrea was a member of the school’s trial team and Vice President of the Moot Court Board. In addition to running the school’s annual intra-scholastic Moot Court Competition in 2009 she represented Roger Williams in several mock trial and appellate court competitions both in Rhode Island and out of state. During the summer before her third year of law school she worked in the Massachusetts criminal courts as an intern with the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. Andrea graduated from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2009 and joined Gidley, Sarli & Marusak shortly thereafter. Her practice of law here at Gidley, Sarli & Marusak is predominantly the defense of medical malpractice claims brought against physicians and other healthcare providers. Andrea resides in Southeastern Massachusetts with her husband. She is licensed to practice law in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island Federal and State Courts. Since 2008 she has been a member of the Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals in Fall River, Massachusetts. She continues to lend her support to Roger Williams’ Trial Team and Moot Court Board by returning to coach students and judge competitions.
